Tory Meyer, registered nurse

When Tory Meyer, registered nurse, sees someone struggling, she doesn’t hesitate to step in whether it’s a resident, colleague or community member in need. She passionately advocates for the underserved, making sure the team sees everyone and hears every voice.

Working in Dulcina Hospice, Tory is often the first to speak up for challenging residents and families with unique or complex needs to meet their care goals and to ensure they experience dignity and comfort in their final days.

Tory is attentive to both her residents and her team, identifying when someone needs support and then lifting them up. Her advocacy extends to her colleagues as well, encouraging them to ask questions and stand up for what is right. When they hesitate, she steps forward to uphold fairness and equity.

Her commitment to social justice reaches beyond Covenant Care. Every Christmas, she leads an initiative to support a family in need through a community organization in northeast Calgary. She coordinates with the organization, shares the family’s needs with staff and personally delivers the gifts on behalf of Dulcina Hospice, embodying the spirit of "from our family to yours".

Tory’s unwavering dedication to fairness, advocacy and community building makes a profound impact on residents, families and colleagues alike. Tory inspires others, fostering a more just and inclusive environment, both within St. Marguerite Manor and Calgary.
