Terra Albers, program manager

Stewardship is more than just responsible management to program manager, Terra Albers, it’s a way of fostering wellness, sustainability and a thriving workplace culture. Through her leadership in diagnostic imaging, she has implemented meaningful initiatives that prioritize staff well-being, patient care and environmental responsibility.

Recognizing a healthy team is essential for effective care, Terra champions workplace wellness. She holds one-on-one check-ins with staff, often outdoors when weather permits, and integrates movement-based activities into meetings to boost energy and morale. She also introduced bimonthly team lunches, giving staff a chance to unwind, connect and build stronger relationships.

Her passion for sustainability has made a lasting impact on Covenant Health. As part of the Misericordia Community Hospital’s green team, Terra has led energy-saving projects such as designing reminders to turn off unused equipment, reupholstering chairs rather than discarding them and retrofitting the Grey Nuns hospital with LED lighting. Her advocacy for plant-based diets has influenced hospital menus, promoting healthier, eco-friendly options.

Terra’s commitment to stewardship extends to patient care. She revived basic life support training for technologists, improving safety for both staff and patients. She also helped implement a patient quality survey in diagnostic imaging, ensuring patient voices are heard and services continue to improve.

Through her leadership, advocacy and resourcefulness, Terra has strengthened her workplace, championed sustainability and enhanced the patient experience.
