Lori Bayne, community board chair

As Banff Mineral Springs Hospital’s community board chair, Lori Bayne exemplifies collaboration as a driving force for impactful change. Her leadership has consistently brought people together to share resources, align goals and achieve outcomes that benefit the entire community.

Lori has been instrumental in uniting teams and building partnerships that strengthen healthcare services. She ensures that staff, board members and community stakeholders are engaged, informed and empowered to contribute to Covenant Health’s mission. Her ability to foster collaboration has created a culture of shared purpose and trust.

Her leadership has led to significant community initiatives, including the Banff Mental Health and Addiction Week, where she coordinated 45 partners, 25 programs and over 900 participants to reduce stigma and improve access to services. The event’s reach — over 16,000 social media interactions and more than 2,000 website visits — demonstrates her ability to amplify impact beyond hospital walls. This event led to open dialogue, allowing individuals to share their experiences and expose critical service gaps. These conversations have led to actionable steps toward improved mental health care and addiction services, directly benefiting the community.

Lori also spearheaded a health services assessment with 25 community stakeholders, identifying key service gaps and shaping long-term planning. Her approach has inspired other Covenant Health sites to adopt similar models, strengthening system-wide collaboration.

Beyond hospital leadership, she builds lasting relationships with government agencies, community organizations and industry partners, ensuring that healthcare remains a priority. Her advocacy and ability to align efforts across sectors have strengthened the hospital’s role in the community.
