Ensuring a high standard of care in a fast-paced healthcare environment requires strong leadership, accountability and a commitment to doing what is right even when it is difficult. The nurse managers at St. Mary’s Hospital are the go-to individuals to help resolve conflict whether it is involving staff, patients or families.
Beyond problem-solving, the nurse managers actively evaluate and refine hospital practices, ensuring policies meet patient needs, support staff safety and align with Covenant Health’s values. When change is necessary, they advocate for improvements, collaborating with integrated services and external partners to implement best practices.
Nurse managers participate in family conferences to ensure everyone has a voice and will consult with the Ethics and Discernment Centre to discuss complex situations. They work to resolve issues respectfully and efficiently.
Through their dedication, professionalism and unwavering integrity, the nurse managers and their teams deliver healthcare with fairness and accountability.
