Jessica Ste Marie, stores attendant

Ensuring a healthcare system runs smoothly requires precision, accountability and a strong commitment to service. Behind the scenes, dedicated professionals work tirelessly to ensure that supplies, equipment and resources are available when and where they are needed most.

Stores attendant, Jessica Ste Marie played a vital role in transforming the contracting, procurement and supply management system (CPSM) at Covenant Health. Through her leadership and organizational skills, she helped implement the CPSM system four months ahead of schedule—a significant achievement that required close coordination with frontline staff, Covenant Health and Alberta Health Services (AHS). This milestone is not only a technological upgrade but a transformative shift with Covenant Health sites ordering supplies for the first time from the AHS warehouse.

Her quick response ensures that departments receive supplies in a timely manner. She is mindful of the costs associated with items and the potential for out-dating, so she places orders with timelines and quantities in mind (warehouse versus supplier, day of the week for delivery, amount of stock at the warehouse, etc.). She maintains a well-organized office and supply area with everything in its designated place.

Jessica’s impact extends beyond logistics. Her positive attitude and willingness to assist make her an invaluable team member. She has strengthened operations, improved resource management and set a high standard for integrity in healthcare procurement.
